A letter of introduction.
Hello, I'm Lisa Skelton, Chief Facilitator of Collective Cadence.
For many years I taught elementary music in the public schools here in the Twin Cities, passionate about the connective power of music, its role in our communities, and the transformation that takes place in people when they are free to create in a safe and
nurturing space.
During that time, I planned and hosted workshops for area music teachers as a board member of MN Orff, co-wrote the music curriculum for two Minnesota school districts, and was a member of a local drumming group.
Following my career in education, I made a big pivot and started a social media consultancy, which I have successfully run for the last five years. *
Through that marketing work, I've had the privilege of participating in networking groups, consulting with executives, and collaborating with high-performing teams. Over time a theme emerged:
our best and brightest are often feeling disconnected and overextended.
We simply don't have enough opportunities to slow down, connect, and de-stress.

A letter of introduction.
That realization brought me back to my favorite memories as a music teacher, those moments when a group was truly present and engaged.
Many of those magic moments were during hand drumming.
I loved hand drumming with groups; nothing made them lock-in faster or tune into each other better. They listened. They watched. They jumped in without pausing to wonder if they’ll look silly. And, almost without fail, body language and facial expressions would gradually shift from anxiety, frustration, or restlessness to release, joy, and connection.
At some point, I had to ask myself:
Why don’t more adults do this?
Collective Cadence was born from that question; a way to bring shared rhythm, creativity, and genuine connection back into adult spaces.
If you have a group who could use a reset, an energy boost, or simply a shared moment of joy, please reach out.
I’d love to help your team find their rhythm together.
* P.S. I still love my social media work, too!
